With children back in school and businesses, organizations and families looking for opportunities to participate in charitable causes, Halloween is the perfect time to introduce our new "SPOOKtacle$ + Buck$" campaign! Instead of just gathering the usual gobs of candy that eventually get thrown away, we can use this wonderful opportunity to help everyone learn the value of charitable work and how each and every one of us can make a difference in the world. Most importantly, we will be helping those who are less fortunate lead happier, more productive and more fruitful lives through the gift of clear vision.
The concept is simple... children will be collecting glasses and donations on their Trick-or-Treating routes, similar to the original UNICEF fund-raising campaign. What's best is that the aim is to make this as simple as possible for everyone involved in the campaign to participate -- from organization members, faculty and staff, to parents and children.
Whether you prefer to hold a "Spec$ + Buck$" OR sponsor a "SPOOKtacle$ + Buck$" Eyeglasses Collection Campaign, we've compiled several resources to help everyone get started. (Additional information is also available by clicking the green SPEC$ + Buck$ button to the left.) We recommend that everyone read through the Campaign Guidebook to understand how the program works. It describes the logistics of the program and includes several tips on how to maximize effectiveness (and fun). Additionally, we're providing some customizable letters and fliers that can be printed directly from this web site. Again, the goal is to simplify the process so that we can focus our efforts on helping others. Of course, please feel free to contact us if there are any questions on the program -- our contact information is included in the Campaign Guidebook.
