USED GLASSES COLLECTING + RECYCLING
Since the GLOBAL re-VISION Network's start in 2001, the vast majority of our used eyeglasses were collected and given to us by many wonderful Lions Clubs throughout Maryland. *

In recognition of the thousands of hours of community service work processing and packing the glasses that has been performed by the SUCCESS students, Rotary Clubs International recognized them as a Rotaract Club. Initially sponsored by the Rotary Club of Rockville, Maryland, they are now sponsored by the Carroll Creek Rotary Club of Frederick, Maryland.

THE FIRST, UPPER 3 PHOTOS SHOWS THE SUCCESS JOB-AND-LIFE-SKILLS TRAINING PROGRAM STUDENTS IN 2007, SORTING EYEGLASSES FOR SHIPPING.
THE PORTRAIT IMMEDIATELY ABOVE IS OF THE SUCCESS PROGRAM STUDENTS AND TEACHERS AT THEIR SCHOOL IN WALKERSVILLE, MARYLAND IN JUNE, 2006. THE ORIGINAL OF THIS PHOTOGRAPH HANGS ON THE WALL OF THE CLINIC OF VISUAL HEALTH IN MÉRIDA, YUCATÁN, MEXICO.

* In addition to the eyeglasses collected and provided to GLOBAL re-VISION by Lions Clubs, we are VERY grateful to the New Eyes for the Needy organization in Short Hills, N.J. (www.NewEyesForTheNeedy.org).Their contribution(s) help us increase our inventories even faster and make supplying new clinics so much easier. These glasses are pre-sorted and go directly into our warehouse for distribution.
